My reMarkable

I have always liked writing things by hand. I love my handwriting. And I used to have an analog notebook for my journal. But somehow I lost the routine of using my journal, which made me a little angry with myself. The reasons might be that the journal was a book with one purpose only: to write down my emotions. Nothing else. And organizing things in an analog journal is an impossible task for me.

When Corona started, I went into homeoffice. To organize tasks and projects my company started using Microsoft Teams/Planner, Trello and Confluence. Later we started a project where we used Microsoft Azure. I really liked these tools and started using Trello for personal tasks as well. I felt like an organizational king. But like my journal the habit to use Trello didn't stick. Something was missing.

A friend told me about the reMarkable device. At first I was pretty unimpressed. But when I got my hands on it, I knew I wanted one, too. Now my reMarkable is with me everywhere I go. In addition to journaling, I use it for planning, task tracking, brainstorming, reading, and studying. It's my diary, my sketchbook, my explanation and presentation tool, my library, my habit tracker, my second brain, and lately I'm building my website and blog on it. This device has changed my life. Anyways, I'm still interested in digital planning and tracking tools. Also I think I can improof this second brain thing. I want to start using Obsidian in the next few weeks. But I feel an inner resistance to use it because the analog component (handwriting) is missing. Hopefully I will get used to it and find a system to organize and archive my reMarkable notes with Obsidian.

If you have any ideas on how to connect the reMarkable to Obsidian, or if you want to know more about how I use my reMarkable, please feel free to leave a comment.

Best, Hans
