Details make your writing richer and more prosaic. But don't use too many or too specific details. And when you have written the draft of your book, look for useful feedback. Don't ask your mom or your best friend. Look for a group of writers. And also try to be objective when you read what you have written. Use different perspectives on your writing and try to find out what they might think. And most importantly, use the feedback and rewrite your piece. Hemingway rewrote passages up to 40 times until he was satisfied.

To get your work done, discipline is key. You need to figure out how to work consistently. And how to overcome writing blocks. Be strong and believe in yourself. Then you will be a writer.
